Explore Adoption
Governor Charlie Crist's Explore Adoption initiative aims to find permanent and loving homes for Florida's children in care. Through public education, expanded partnerships, Web-based outreach and a leveraged mass media campaign, Explore Adoption invites Floridians to find out more about the children immediately available for adoption right in their home state. The initiative focuses on promoting the benefits of public adoption and urging families to consider creating or expanding their families by adopting a child who is older, disabled or part of a sibling group.
Explore Adoption educates Floridians through its interactive Web site and engaging public service announcements campaign. Additionally, we produced a 30-minute television special featuring three unique families who have given deserving children a family.
Since its launch in May 2008, the adoption information hotline has received more calls than ever before, and the Web site has received more than 15,000 unique visits. Explore Adoption has also garnered extensive media coverage in all Florida markets including print, television and online publications and blogs. Social networking has played an integral role in reaching a broad audience and moving the campaign's message forward.
